Shake Awake

Portable, compact and lightweight are just a few adjectives I would use to describe the Shake Awake alarm clock. It is an assistive device to wake up even the deepest of sleepers, or so it claims. It is a user friendly tool equipped with a light button to see in the dark. Simply set the alarm, set it either on vibrate or sound mode and then clip the clock onto a pillow. When it is time, it will shake vigorously, but intermittently for 5 seconds or will let out a “loud” beep for the same amount of time. Using 2 AA batteries and 1 AAA battery, it is can rack up a bill when the batteries die. Costing approximately $24 - $26, but as much as $60, it is a costly alarm clock, considering comparable clocks running about $10 - $15 on island. Shake Awake is not available here, but can be ordered online at various websites. I am sure that light and average sleepers can use this device, but I have to disagree when it comes to heavy sleepers. The alarm on sound mode is not loud enough to awaken a deep sleeper. Trust me, I tried it on my 15- year- old son, who is a very deep sleeper, and it did nothing for him. To own something savvy, one could buy this to add to a collection. For practicality, I would suggest to save his/her money for a rainy day.
